Friday 1st November seen Newcastle Maitland host their inaugural Jody Moore memorial race night. Jody was a member of the club whilst her two daughters Samantha and Kate both raced for many years. Jody Moore memorial seen a field of 9 horses racing over 3 races with a running point score to determine winner. With such close race finishes and variety of winners and place getters seen it a close competition to take out the Jody Moore memorial title.
First race win went to a new racing combination from the Team Cassar stables Body Cassar on Cross Em Boss. After showing few of his old tricks in the race and coming home strong for second was Oreo for Jorja Daskalovski, then with the strong back marker Arabella coming in third place for Will Ilsley
Race two, with strong field of competitors seen Another Winner from the Team Cassar stables with Chase Em Ace – Isabella Cassar, coming in second was the always consistent Ultimate Jazz for Emme Formosa, still wanting to play but racing strong for third place was Oreo for Jorja Daskalovski.
Race three was bringing it down to the wire at this stage for the Jody Moore Memorial title was anyone’s. After racing strong all-night Oreo decided it was time to give Jorja Daskalovski a close win by a nose over Major Jiba for Amity Cassar, then a whisker to Ultimate Jazz for Emme Formosa. All ponies on the night were strong contenders with Pure Steel – Rylan Mitchell, Arabella – Will Ilsley, Team Cassar stable Chase Em Ace- Isabella Cassar, & Cross Em Boss- Body Cassar. From Team Kearsley Mystical Rose- Clare Carroll, and Sexyniknowit- Zac Carroll showing great racing performance on the night, making up the field of 9.
The club would like to Congratulate Jorja and her pony Oreo on the winning of the Jody Moore Memorial. After placing with a 1st , 2nd, and 3rd on the night seen the duo win overall. Even though Jorja was little microphone shy at presentation we seen the thrill and excitement of winning such a memorable race. All the and dedication Jorja puts into her pony payed off on the night.
