Leeton Mini Trotters Open Their New Season

As has been the trend in recent years, Leeton Mini Trotters commenced their new season at Leeton Show on Friday night, 11th October 2019.

Despite a threatening sky the nine drivers lined up to enjoy 3 races under perfect conditions.

LMTCs two newest drivers Lachlan Symes and Lilah Trewin were made welcome for their first race meeting, and had a successful evening.

New ponies for the season Colour Me Crazy and Jimmy’s Girl took their drivers around safely for their first outing. We welcomed Mystery Nugget back to the track after an absence of many years, but he didn’t miss a beat with his capable young driver on board!

Once again Leeton Show Society provided medallions for all competitors which were most gratefully received by our drivers (and rumour has it that one or two may have been worn to bed that night).

2nd: Nanna Smoke (Jed Driscoll)

3rd: Betty’s Boy (Layla Forrest)

4th: Colour Me Crazy (Rosie Reay)

Race 2

1st: Mystery Nugget (Lachlan Symes)

2nd: Jimmys Girl (Ryan Ward)

3rd: Cookie Monster (Shanae Best)

4th: Little Secret (Connor Ward)

Race 3

1st: Little Secret (Connor Ward)

2nd: Colour Me Crazy (Rosie Reay)

3rd: Betty’s Boy (Layla Forrest)

4th: Nanna Smoke (Jed Driscoll)

Major Show sponsors for 2019 Ben Walsh Electrical also provided a Champion and Reserve Champion ribbon to be awarded to the Mini Trotters. Jed Driscoll and his pony Nanna Smoke were awarded Champion , while Little Lilah Trewin and her pony Seven took home the big green ribbon!

LMTC will next race at Griffith Carnival of Cups at Dalton Park on Saturday 9th November 2019.
